Dayton, Ohio Named one of the Best Military Cities for Retirement
It was recently announced that Dayton, Ohio is one of the best military cities for retirement. A study conducted by USAA and Military.com found Dayton to be among the top military cities when it comes to quality of life and job opportunities in the private sector.
Other deciding factors included proximity to a military base and Veterans Affairs hospital or clinic, employment and educational opportunities, affordability, housing costs, economic stability, crime rate, climate, health indicators, airport access, arts and culture and recreational opportunities. Dayton ranked 6th overall. Other cities on the list include Oklahoma City, OK; Kileen, TX; Wichita, KS; Tampa, FL; Lake County, IL; Atlanta, GA; Shreveport, LA; and Elizabethtown, KY.
New Carriage Trails Signage and Landscaping
New monument signage, sidewalks and paved paths, landscaping, fencing have been constructed at the west entrance and at two additional neighborhood entrances, the Lakes and the Meadows. See the photos below.

Miller Valentine to Develop 34 Units in Carriage Trails
Miller-Valentine Group is embarking on five affordable housing projects, including a 34-unit facility in Huber Heights. This will be a $6.2 million dollar housing project within Carriage Trails.

Carriage Trails Homes Update
Come see the new growth in the community! Ryan Homes and Brighton Homes are currently constructing new homes in three of Carriage Trails' 16 neighborhoods. 44 homes have been sold and many are under construction. New sidewalks, fencing and monument signage at the entrances are also under construction.

Carriage Trails to Impact Area and State Economy
Carriage Trails held a VIP Open House reception Thursday night that included state representatives, county, Chamber of Commerce and city representatives at the 700 acre development located between St. Rt. 202 and St. Rt. 201 north of Interstate 70.
George Jenkins Now Managing Member of DEC/Carriage Trails LLC
Mike Radcliffe recently completed the sale of most of his interest in DEC Land Co. I LLC and all of his interest in DEC/Carriage Trails LLC, the managing member of DEC Land Co. I LLC, to George Jenkins. With these transactions, George is now the Managing Member of DEC/Carriage Trails LLC. This change has legal significance, however, practically, there is no change since George has been involved in all the legal and business decisions for Carriage Trails, as well as with the day-to-day operations. The team of George Jenkins, Bill Jump and Ken Conaway look forward to continuing to work with everyone on the exciting, rapidly growing and successful development of Carriage Trails.
New Homes From Brighton Homes and Ryan Homes Currently Being Built
Two of AmericaÕs finest home builders, Brighton Homes and Ryan Homes, are currently constructing new homes in three of Carriage Trails' neighborhoods. April 1st, 2010 is the target date for the opening of both of the models. The public will be invited to tour these homes and talk to representatives about new construction, options and availability of individual lots. In addition, five private residences are under construction and ground-breaking will occur for two more in the near future.

Dayton-Area Home Building Permits Up 30 Percent
The number of home building permits filed in the Dayton area continued its three-month climb from the same months last year, increasing nearly 30 percent last month.
